Regulations on Fast and Abstinence …
The Law of Abstinence (from eating meat) binds those who have completed their fourteenth year of age. The Law of Fasting (only one full meatless meal is allowed; two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each ones needs; but together they should not equal another full meal) binds all those who have attained their majority (18 years of age) until the beginning of their sixtieth year. Abstinence (from meat) is to be observed on all Fridays within the season of Lent and Passiontide and on Ash Wednesday. Fast and abstinence is observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
